The Inaugural Conference 2018 of The Advisory Board of The Central University of Finance and Economics Business School was a success

   On October 29thThe Inaugural Conference 2018 of the Advisory Board of the Central University of Finance and Economics CUFE Business School was held in the Academic Assembly Hall. Professor Wang Yaoqi, President of CUFE, and Professor Li Tao, Assistant President of CUFE were among the attendees. Advisory Board Members of the CUFE Business School - Professor Ajay Vinzé, Dean of the University of Missouri Business School, Mr. Jin Peng, Director and General Manager for SINOLINK Securities, Professor Li Junsheng, former Vice President of CUFE, Mr.Tao Dong, Managing Director and Chief Economic Analyst for Credit Suisse AG Asia, Professor Wang Fanghua, former Dean of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Antai College, as well as Mr.Yang Shujian, President of Bank of Beijing also attended the meeting. Additionally, all of the members of the CUFE Business School Board members were in attendence.

The meeting was divided into two sessions. Session 1 was the Inaugural Meeting of the first Advisory Board of CUFE Business School and was hosted by Professor Ge Jianxin, Party Secretary of CUFE Business School. At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Wang Yaoqi delivered the opening speech. President Wang welcomed to the members and congratulated them on the establishment of the Advisory Board. After that President Wang gave a briefly speech about the history of CUFE and its Business School as well as some of the milestones. Over the past 70 years, CUFE has ascended to become one of the top financial universities in China, and is commonly known as the “cradle for financial management experts in China”. The Business School is responsible for the main body of management discipline construction and has graduated a number of outstanding economic management professionals. These individuals populate various industries. Finally, President Wang said that the establishment of the Advisory Board of CUFE Business School is of grant significance. She hopes that members will put forward valuable opinions and advice, make suggestions for the development of CUFE and Business School, and feedback the frontier information of business management and education to the Business School, leading to a promotion of the continuous innovation and development.

At the meeting, President Wang issued the Letters of Appointment to members of the first Advisory Board of CUFE Business School. The meeting elected Professor Li Junsheng, as the Chairman of the first Advisory Board of CUFE Business School. He will oversee the Advisory Board bylaw establishment voting process.

The second session pertained to the 2018 Annual Meeting of the first Advisory Board of the CUFE Business School. The meeting was hosted by Professor Li Junsheng. Dean Wang Ruihua expanded upon on the current profile of the Business School. Dean Wang gave a comprehensive introduction and in-depth summary of  school’s development covering five aspects: the general situation of the Business School, its development strategy, recent discipline and scientific research, current faculty training, and its long-term improvement plan. Hesaid that the Business School has been continuously building and developing with its mission-oriented strategy, and has achieved developments. Not only has it obtained AMBA and CAMEA certifications, but the business administration discipline achieved an A- rating in 2018 national assessment.At the same time, the Business School is facing of challenges and problems. During the meeting, Dean Wang expressed his thoughts and specific plans for the improvement plan to the Advisory Board.

The board members spoke highly of the achievements of CUFE Business School, and held a discussion on the development strategy, school characteristics, talent training, faculty development and school-enterprise cooperation, which provided strategic opinions for the development of CUFE Business School. Following the discussion the board members now have high expectations for the future development of CUFE Business School. The board members also agreed that the construction of a first-class business school must be built using a unique brand approach. CUFE Business School is accurate in its own development strategy. It is necessary to accelerate the in-depth implementation and comprehensive innovation of the internationalization and differentiation strategy, relying on the characteristics of the university. We will seize the opportunity of the forefront of the times and strive to realize the dreams of the development of CUFE Business School.

Finally, Professor Li Junsheng, Chairman of the Advisory Board, concluded the meeting while Dean Wang made a closing speech. Dean Wang expressed his gratitude to the members for their insights and innovative ideas, and promised that CUFE Business School would continue to profoundly analyze the new positioning of development and grasp the new opportunities for innovation in the future development, and would implement the opinions and suggestions of the members of the Advisory Board. To be practical, CUFE Business School will respond to challenges with innovation, find breakthroughs in development, form the competitive advantage and unique brand of the college, and build a first-class business school in China.
