November 21, CUFEBusiness School invitedProfessorShi Zhongzhi to deliver a lecture on the topic of “Business Intelligence (BI)”. Professor Shi Zhongzhi is a senior researcher at theInstitute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chairman ofthe Mechanical Learning and data Mining Group of the IFIP AI ProfessionalCommittee. Professor Shi delivered a wonderful lecture and shared details on BI with faculty and students from CUFE Business School. The lecture was hosted by Professor Ge Jianxin, CCP General Secretary of CUFEBusiness School. Ms. Wang Rong, Deputy CCP General Secretary of CUFEBusiness School, was attended.

Professor Shianalyzed the application of AI technology in business sector from six aspects such as BI, CBDME, Big DateMining Cloud Engine, Cloud Platform,Data Management, and Application Service. Everyone could understand theimportance of algorithm in big data technology concisely and clearly afterProfessor Shi’s lecture. Thereafter, Professor Shi briefly introduced the principles in theapplication of canonical correlation analysis based on relevance and correlationanalysis in big data and AI. Professor Shi emphasized the important role ofstorage virtualization and data warehouse in data management.Professor Shi’s lecture played a very goodrole in guiding the students’ deep thinking.

In the discussionsession, students raised constructive questions. Professor Shi shared his viewson “when could robots replace human?” He stressed that, currently, the AItechnology was still at a very early stage in the world, and that there was avery long way to go for AI to replace human. It is better to devote time toresearch on AI and think about how the existing technology would better servethe society rather than thinking about those distant issues.

After the lectureand the discussion sessions, Professor Ge Jianxin, CCP General Secretary ofCUFE Business School, appreciated Professor Shi for his insights andinspiration.
