Bio:Dr. Tang Wangis currently an assistant professor in the College of Business Administrationat the Faculty of University of Central Florida. He received his Ph.D. degreein Henry W. Bloch School of Management. His research work has been published inleading academic journals such asJournal of Management, Journal of BusinessVenturing, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Journal of TechnologyTransferandR&D Management.

                 

Abstract:This study explores the impactof family structure on firm outcome in family businesses. We leverage theregulatory focus theory and suggest that family structure will have an impacton firm promotion and prevention focus and subsequent strategic behaviors. Ourdata and analyses drawn from family firms in China support our theory. Thisstudy answers the call for a deeper understanding of family structure toexplain organization actions.
